Opposition Mounts: PDP Denounces Alleged Moves by Rivers Assembly and APC Targeting Governor Fubara

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticize the Rivers State House of Assembly and the All Progressives Congress (APC) for allegedly forcing Governor Siminalayi Fubara to behave illegally. Sydney Gbara, the party's spokeswoman, expressed disappointment with the Assembly's plain approval of unfair laws and feelings damaging to the state's progress.

Gbara addressed the claimed ingratitude of certain lawmakers, who, although earning from Fubara's peace measures, are now contesting their legality in court. He pointed out the constitutional void of positions held by defectors to the APC in the absence of PDP internal conflicts, indicating coming legal clarification on the issue.

Also Gbara condemned the lawmakers' threats to impeach Governor Fubara, describing them as embarrassing and a threat to the state. The statement cited Speaker Martin Amaewhule's accusation of Fubara's illegal behaviour, despite his support for a presidential peace accord, and expressed worries about the state's budgetary clearance process.

The PDP's opposition highlights the growing conflicts between political groups in Rivers State and reinforces how important it is to preserve constitutional procedures and communication in order to achieve sustainable governance.
